In 2017, TRUEbenefits and 23 firms across the nation joined to form Alera Group. Six years later, we are 180 firms strong, working together to leverage powerful relationships, industry experience and resources with the goal of supporting our clients’ business strategies and elevating the experience of working with us. By embracing our new branding of Alera Group, we will continue to bring our clients a personalized set of solutions while reflecting our expanded capabilities. What remains consistent is holding our clients at the core of our business.

Aanya Lee
Senior Lead ConsultantAanya Lee, Sr. Lead Consultant, has been thoughtful and strategic in working with employers in their ability to prioritize their most important resource, their human capital. She has over 15 years of experience working with employers of all sizes and industries to manage their health and benefits. She relies heavily on her foundation of finance, to strategically consult clients to manage their most important assets, (their people). Her hands-on strategic approach to consulting paired with years of pharmacy and finance experience allow her to design best in class benefit strategies for employers, while ensuring members are never overlooked. Aanya joined Alera Group in 2019. When not strategizing, Aanya enjoys planning her next family vacation, baking and cheering on her daughters academic and athletic endeavors.
Ann-Marie Clarke
Senior ConsultantAnn-Marie Clarke, Sr. Consultant, comes to Alera Group with 14 years of experience in the overall management of employee benefits plans, Nationally, Internationally and within the Pacific Northwest. Her focus over the last five years has been working with employers to develop strategies in cost management while maintaining industry competitive benefits programs in our ever-changing environment. Her passion for bringing vision of geographic market trends, industry specific design options and ideas for increased member engagement fuels her goal in maintaining client spend, providing an added layer for Human Resources teams, and educating members in consumerism. Ann-Marie takes pride in her best-in-class client service and believes the broker/client relationship is a true partnership. Her other passions include running and core strengthening, hiking, lots of time with her spouse, three children and two Bernese Mountain dogs, and wine tastings in Woodinville.
Aaron Millman
Client Service Team SupervisorAaron Millman, Client Service Team Supervisor and Senior Lead Client Manager has worked in account management of large employer groups for over 15 years. His passion is in employee education and engagement through creative employee communications. He supervises the Client Service team in addition to working directly with his clients. He strives to help employers provide high-quality benefits programs for their employees with effective and innovative plan designs that match their needs. Aaron joined the Alera Group team in early 2018. He has a BA from the University of Washington, and he volunteers with the American Red Cross and Food Lifeline. When not working or working out, Aaron spends time renovating houses, playing favorites with his nieces & nephews, traveling, or spending time with his adorable (but grumpy) rescue cocker spaniel.
Kris Elshaug
Client ManagerKris Elshaug, Client Manager, has enjoyed 30 years in the health insurance industry. She has worked with individual clients and Medicare beneficiaries, as well self-funded, level-funded and fully insured groups of all sizes. Kris considers compliance to be an integral part of the health and welfare plan and is passionate about assisting her clients satisfy these requirements. She is committed to building and maintaining client and employer relationships through genuine communication and outstanding customer service. Kris spends her free time with family and friends, watching Marines games and traveling.

Q1 Considerations: Affordability for Applicable Large Employers
Under the ACA, Applicable Large Employers (ALEs) are required to offer “affordable” medical coverage to full-time employees or be subject to a fine. In September 2023, the IRS announced that the 2024 affordability percentage would reduce from the 2023 rate of 9.12% to 8.39% as of January 1, 2024.
